Sandblasting small parts

Over the last days I disassembled lots of parts and went through what is reusable or not, what would be nice to replaced and what could be restored. As the budget starts to get a bit higher than expected, I decided to go and salvage more parts.

Corrored metal is quite common on a 29 years old car. If such parts are to be reused it is fundamental to remove as much as rust as possible, specially the surface one, so that a surface treatment and painting can last over time.
Metal brushes and sandpaper can do the job, but these are quite time consuming methods when you remove deep rust. Luckily I got free access to best solution: sandblasting machine! This can do miracles when properly used!
Here's some of the best "before and after" pictures of some parts:

COVERS FROM POWER RELAYS
take to protect all electrical connections and isolation plastics before starting!

REAR SUSPENSION/BRAKES FIXATION PLATES
HANDBRAKE CABLE FITTINGS

I also went over the electric motor fan, which looks much better in bare aluminum ;]
Once this is done, all parts should be properly washed to remove all dust and grease. Wear clean gloves while doing so, as the grease in your hands is not the best thing to find in a such bare surface.
Let everything dry very well, and then apply the first layer of primer as soon as possible.
This the general recommendation at least... I some days I'll post my own experience on this.
